When Sigung Al Dacascos came to Germany in 1975 he planned to place the organizational part of his Wun Hop Kuen Do Kung Fu style with a registered association. In February 1978 this plan matured and the German Wun Hop Kuen Do Kung Fu Association was founded. The managing commitee of the foundation were Al and Malia Dacascos, Holger and Agelika Randel, in which Holger Randel had the necessary legal adviser and worked out the statutes and articles. When Sifu Al Dacascos left Germany in 1982 and went back to the USA, his black belts Michael Timmermann, Jörn Tiedge, Winfried Joszko and Christian Wulf took control and steered the growth of the association carefully. The 13-membership schools of the DWKV e.V. are in an area of North Germany at the moment. Together they have about 3,500 members. The reason of the slow growth of the association is the narrow regulations. All schools of the DWKV are led by black belts of Wun Hop Kuen Do Kung Fu and only they are allowed to become a member of DWKV. The possibility of owning a school is only given to those with the Second Master Grade. All the assistant trainers or black belts of the First Grade are only allowed to lead groups or departments in foreign schools. Therefore, the high level of education and technical standards can be kept. The DWKV e.V. is, as far as it is concerned, member of the I.K.A. ( International Kajukenbo Association) which is the umbrella organization for all Dacascos' schools world wide.

The organization is represented in Germany, USA, Canada, Mexico and Spain. Wun Hop Kuen Do developed from the system of Kajukenbo together with Tum Pai, Chuan Fa and the Old Pine Tree system of the Kajukenbo family, which Prof. A.D. Emperado is the head/brain). Affiliated with this umbrella organization are the K.A.A. ( Kajukenbo Association of America Headquarters ), the Dacascos International Incorporated and the Kajukenbo Self-Defense Institute of Hawaii. Members include approximately 3,500 actives, about 10 percent ladies and 10 percent children. Finally, the German WHKD Association is also a member of the IHMAA ( International Hong Kong Martial Arts Association ). The huge family of Kajukenbo, with its founder Prof. Emperado, comprises of approximately 150,000 students, with nearly 10,000 black belts world wide. Wun Hop Kuen Do do consist of 15 percent of this. In Germany, during the anniversary year of 1990 ( 15 years of WHKD and 10 years of Dacascos Open Championships - the biggest German tournament ), there were six black belts of the Second Grade, four black belts of the First Grade and six candidates for the First Grade.
